I created Summertime Somewhere as a way to merge my years of experience in the fashion industry as a designer, seamstress, production manager and teacher with my passions for textiles, analog photography, creative direction and branding. Through Summertime Somewhere, I am manifesting a career that encourages travel, exploration, curiosity, collaboration and autonomy. I strive to produce beautiful, high quality swimwear that makes my customer feel like her best self, while having a low impact on the environment.
Spring 2018 Swimwear Collection + Lookbook
The Spring 2018 lookbook was shot on 35mm film while on vacation in Cartagena, Colombia. Some photos were shot among the beautiful Caribbean blues and white sands of Playa Blanca, while others were captured in the hallway of our airbnb, or while enjoying the sunset from a rooftop hot tub. The marriage of design, travel and photography is the lifeblood of my process.
At Summertime Somewhere, I focus on collaboration with strong women to create beautiful imagery to showcase my designs. The models are my friends; they are artists, writers, entrepreneurs, students, dancers, lovers, feminists and all around multifaceted forces of nature. Many thanks to the following collaborators:
The Spring 2018 lookbook features Nico Mazza and Stella Hartmann. Nico is an embroidery artist, tango dancer, creator of Pussy Pipes and co-founder of feminist creative collective, She/Folk. Stella is a writer, traveler, artist, woman in tech and contributor to She/Folk.
Our product photos were photographed by Anastasiya Zolotukhin and modeled by Chris Cedeño. Anastasiya is an artist, photographer and graduate student at the University of Florida School of Architecture. Chris is the creator of Fuzz Petals, skincare vlogger and illustrator.
